-Hi I was wondering what cable I should use for my monitor which is 1080p full hd VGA or HDMI I will be watching blu ray movies and playing games like battlefield 3 when it comes out
So what cable to use VGA or HDMI and is there a difference in the picture quality and btw my graphics card is nvidia gtx 580VGA isn't a protected video path, so you will not be able to watch protected media, such as Blu Ray, unless the Blu Ray player is in the computer.
As far as PC goes, I prefer VGA, but cannot really tell you pros/cons as I can't tell a difference.
And seeing as how a computer can produce resolutions higher than *x1080, VGA is easily capable of HD video.
vga won't give you hd quality unless you're using a dvi/dvi-d to vga adapter
and depending on your monitor ratio the HDMI cable can letterbox your resolution losing an inch or so off the border. You can overscan it with the monitor or gpu settings but it may cause some issues with certain applications.
HDMI or DVI are the only way you will get 1080p
If it has a DVI socket then use that instead.
