I reset my laptop back to the factory state, Is there anyway to retrieve some picture files somehow?

-I was unable to enter windows because my registry was corrupt, so i forgot about some memorable pictures, is there anyway to retrieve some of them, I know its a long shot. You can recover your pictures easily with 3rd party data recovery software.I have a professional program that can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data due to system restore, system sabotage, virus attack etc.You can download it and scan your hard drive for free to preview whether your pictures can be recovered.Get it from http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product鈥?/a> By the way, when you use the program, you are supposed to select 'Format Recovery'.Hope this helps!
A System restore will only restore System file and programs not data like photos ,music etc.

Also after a Factory reinstall there is only going to possible be a restore point where programs have been added during the install.

Use this program download it onto a usb drive or pen you do not have to install it so you won't risk overwriting more data.

It is free and called Recuva and is easy to use'

Hope you get them back
Possibly. There are programs that can find "deleted" files still on the hard drvie. Pareto Logic has a nice program that can try to restore the files, but you must pay for it to recover the files.
Probably, try following this guide:

Usually when files are deleted they are just marked as being over-writable, if they have not been overwritten you can sometimes retrieve them.
no when you do factory restore it erases the hard drive and loads the new operating system basically over writing your old stuff. it would take a professional to recover the files if they havent been written over too much yet.
you can try system restore.
system restore back?
