How to get USB memory stick to work?

-The memory stick is a pqi travelling u172p

My OS is Windows 7



When I put my memory stick into my computer it says -

USB Device Not Recognized:

One of the USB device attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.

I've tried to look at it's driver but it says "No driver files are required or have been located for this device.Sounds like the drive burned out, this happens when a drive has reach it's peak transfer/storage lifetime. I suggest purchasing a new drive. Sometimes this can occur prematurely if excess read/write cycles are done, such as running an OS from the drive.Did you insert the disc with driver before you searched?
