What do i need to know when upgrading the RAM ?

i want to upgrade to 6gb ram , what do i need to know before i do so (i read about things like frequency , DDR 2or3 ..) pls explainFirst you need to know about the supported RAM modules and frequency of your motherboard. For the intel H61 , as far as the intel documentation says , it only supports DDR3 ram module running at a FREQUENCY of 1333 Mhz . So you can only use this SPECIFIC type of ram. Also if you have two channels , you can use two modules of 3 gb ram ( i don't know if they exist ) , or if it has 3 modules then you can get another 2 GB ram and insert it in the remaining slot.there is a tad bit more to the other guys answer but i can not remember what it is.

you can find out whats supported by going to the Company web page and tell them what pc/laptop it is and so on.
u should go to corsair 1333mhz its the best and fastest ram and good for gaming.....good luck
