-Please no long answers, just a short one that gets to the point. Which one should I get?Depends what you want.
PC-Better for games, less expensive.
Macs-Faster then PCs, better for work, more space.
I recommend Mac as they are more of an all-around computer then PCs are. What's all this talk about open source not working on OS X or whatever. So far pretty much everything I've seen with a Windows port has an OS X port too. If the program was developed specifically for Windows then the fact that it's open source doesn't make it different from closed source Windows native programs that don't get ported to OS X. >.>
The main things to consider are
Price - PC will be cheaper
Software - OS X can't run most .exe files so if you find yourself is a situation where you *have* to use some obscure Windows program for work or educational purposes then a Mac might be an inconvenience. This is also an issue if you want to play games.
Security - OS X is safer, but make sure you actually read up on Mac security, don't just assume it is invulnerable because it isn't.
Shiny - Macs are shiny!!1
If you use PC's now and they do what you need them to do then stick with it. Just bought a used Mac G5. I can not even begin to tell you how lost I am with it. I bought it just to see what Macs are all about. I will figure it out but it will take time. If I needed to use this computer and hit the ground running I would be screwed. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
If you game at all then you'll need a PC.
You'll also need a PC and not a Mac if you are opposed to being ripped off in a big way.
Only get a Mac if you are swayed by the fact that they are *considered* trendy and aesthetically pleasing.
Which have you had better luck with? If PCs have been failing on you the last few years, then get a Mac if you want a new computer experience. If they've been reliable, then stick with PCs. It's whatever works for you best.
PC.聽 Better value for money, and more easily upgradeable.聽 Also, better variety of software available, especially open source freeware.

I recommend mac for it's simple UI and depth of apple programs.
Windows is cheaper and a lot easier to download opensource programs.
