-My netbook is coming to the end of its life time. I was looking into getting an iPad 2 as its replacement. But then i saw the HP TouchPad. I was just wondering which would be best for money? Both can be picked up with 16gb hard-drives for around 拢400 or below. Is the iPad essentially just a bigger version of an iPod Touch/iPhone? The main things i do is use the internet. I rarely use Microsoft Office but if it was needed i could use my parents netbook. So the main thing i'm looking for is something with quick internet loading, playing games, holding lots of music and a pretty decent speaker for playing music/films without headphones. Or would i be better just buying a laptop instead?
Thanks in advance!Actually I would suggest an Android tablet, iPad is mainly just an iPhone with a whole lot of more problems in it, and less apps. On Android you can do anything and everything the iPad does plus more! Android runs an OS called Linux, with linux everything is open source, which means you can go into your phone from your computer and everything without having to jailbreak or any extra thing. Say you want to put some music and videos on it, all you have to do is just open up the folders on your computer, then drag and drop! So much easier than going into iTunes and syncing.
I would either go for a android tablet or a windows 7 based tablet or a normal laptop ... I wouldn't even bother with the Ipad 2 as it doesn't even support flash , In the long run you be better off not getting a ipad 2
I can even suggest a dell laptop, thats both a tablet and also can be used as a tablet.
http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-duo/pd鈥?/a> there you go both a netbook and a tablet in one... and with windows 7
The HP Touchpad is pretty mediocre, it has performance problems and a dearth of apps. I'd recommend Android Honeycomb tablets - for the same price you get a lot more out of them.
You don't seem to need a laptop! A tablet is suitable for you.. Check out Android tablets; They are better than the ipad!
iOS is full of restrictions and most of the apps on Apple Store are usually paid apps not free! So, Android seem to be the perfect choice.. and it's a wonderful OS..
According to your requirement i find the best appliance that will work for you is iPad 2 as it is good for playing games and is also convenient for preparing any document.
the iPad is exactly like the iPod touch/iPhone. My dad bought one for work and it's exactly the same. I would recommend a new laptop over the iPad or Tablet!
a touch screen laptop or pc monitor ipad?? why would you do that it hasn't even got flash -_- but yh laptop.
Laptop. Try this laptop recommender: http://www.laptoprec.com/
ipods are not really computers laptops are
ipad 2 definitely will provide you a good networking experience.
If you are an avid user of gaytube then you should buy the IPad.
like what all the others are saying, the iPad 2 is the best device for you at the moment.
ipad 2!!
It does depend on what you need it to do. The tablets are the new net-books, they just don't fold in half! Poor processors, naff video chips, low spec RAM, low quality sound, a lack of sockets and DVD drive and they don't run Windows. Some of the tablets have less processing power than a mobile phone! But if all you need it to do is emails, watch a bit of video streaming and not much more then yes they are ideal.
If you want to do much more than just an over-sized text editing machine then get a laptop.
I like Bon-Garts analogy of the pen and the paint brush, thumbs up from me!
The tablet has taken the world by storm. As a more approachable, user-friendly computer, many folks are purchasing tablets to begin learning email and basic internet functions.
One of the key differences between a tablet and a laptop is a physical keyboard and size. Because of their smaller size, tablets typically do not come with physical keyboards and are instead fitted with a touch keyboard. Most tablets have keyboards that can be purchased, but they won鈥檛 feel exactly like an attached one. If you do a lot of typing, this may be one of the hardest things to get past when considering switching to a tablet.

Answer
Wrong wrong wrong. You have not scratch the surface of it's capabilities of what it can do, if you use the operating system that was designed for it, Your using windows which was never developed for the netbooks or notebook systems
Surly you most have heard of Google Android the operating system that kicking the iPhone/iPads butt well you can have the same operating system that Android was developed with (Linux) it boots up in 20 seconds on the net in 30 seconds surfs the web at the blink of an eye, It's free to download there are several distributions that you can pick from
if you buy a Laptop the same thing applies install Linux on it, It's fast stable and secure, it does not crash freeze up or gets windows viruses, It's up todate July 2011
For your netbook check these links out these are just a few Netbook operating systems
