Could you Put 1gb of RAM and add 2gb of another Ram?

-well I'll buying gpu and wanna add Ram on my computer.Yes, you can run a 1GB stick next to a 2GB stick just fine. You really should add a second 2GB stick though, so the memory runs in dual-channel mode like they're supposed to. 1GB + 2GB won't run in dual-channel.as long asx the clock's r the same i.e 1333mhz or 1600mhz etc then you should be fine, though the same RAM values side by side are preffered for dual channel compatability, and make the most out of ur ram
On most motherboards it will work, but when RAM sticks are different sizes the memory runs in slower single-channel mode instead of dual-channel mode.
